#A37 and #A37P above are reproductions of a 19th century icon. These Saints were killed for Christian religious activities in Kelikia at the turn of the third century.
Sts. Kosma and Damian and their brothers Leontij and Anfirm came from Arabia. Proficient in medicine, Kosma and Damian visited people in villages and towns to give them medical assistance.
They propagated Christian religion with the help of their miraculous cures. Because of this, they were tortured, imprisoned, and finally beheaded. Leontij and Anfim suffered and died with them.
